Social Security/Retirement Funds (Democratic View)

The Democratic Party strongly believes that retirement and social security should be taken more seriously. They will make it a priority to secure every hard working American’s retirement funds. They will attempt to preserve and protect existing public and private pension plans. Today, many Americans are changing jobs more frequently than ever! Therefore they will automatically enroll every worker into a workplace pension plan where it can be cared from job to job and match savings for working families that need it. The Democratic Party will try to ensure all employees who have a company pension, to receive an annual disclosure about their pension fund’s investments. It will include full detail of where and what projects have been invested in. They will also try to reform corporate bankruptcy laws so that workers’ retirements are a priority for funding, so workers aren’t left with worthless IOU’s after years of service. They will also eliminate all federal income taxes for seniors making less than $50,000 per year. The Democrats proposal is amazing but the only disadvantage is that in order for the seniors to get a better social security and retirement money. They would have to start charging more for taxes to fulfill their proposals.
